Academic Excellence

Hosanna Christian School is committed to maintaining high academic standards across all educational disciplines while integrating a strong Christian worldview into every aspect of learning. We utilize the Abeka curriculum, supplemented with additional resources to provide a well-rounded education.

Our students consistently perform well above state and national averages on scholastic testing. While academic excellence is a priority, we also place strong emphasis on citizenship and the development of Christ-centered character.

Classes are taught in a traditional classroom setting with 12–18 students per class, allowing teachers to provide meaningful personal attention to each student. In addition to classroom instruction, students benefit from physical education, field trips, and enrichment activities that enhance and broaden their educational experience.

Our Educational Objectives

At Hosanna Christian School, our goal is to partner with families in developing students academically, spiritually, and socially through a Biblical worldview. We strive to:

  • Develop a Christian worldview by integrating the Bible into all areas of learning and life. (2 Peter 1:3)

  • Encourage a love for God’s Word through memorization, meditation, and personal study. (Psalm 119:11; Psalm 1:1–3; 2 Timothy 2:15)

  • Promote Christian character and stewardship, teaching students to honor God in their attitudes, choices, and use of resources. (1 Timothy 6:17–19; Matthew 6:19–20; 1 Corinthians 10:31)

  • Teach respect for the body as God’s temple through physical fitness, healthy habits, and wise choices. (1 Corinthians 6:19–20)

  • Develop strong academic skills, including reading, writing, speaking, listening, and mathematics. (2 Corinthians 5:20)

  • Build effective study habits, research skills, and logical reasoning grounded in Biblical truth. (2 Timothy 2:3–7; Hebrews 5:14; Romans 12:2)

  • Encourage creative and critical thinking through the evaluation of ideas using Biblical principles. (2 Timothy 3:14–17)

  • Cultivate appreciation for the Fine Arts, including art, music, and drama.

  • Promote good citizenship through an understanding of our Christian and American heritage in the home, church, and nation. (Romans 13:1–7)

  • Connect learning to real-world events, helping students understand current affairs in light of God’s plan.

  • Develop appreciation for God’s creation, encouraging responsible stewardship of the world He has entrusted to us. (Psalm 8:6; Hebrews 2:6–8)

Pre-K and Kindergarten

Our Pre-K (4-year-olds) and Kindergarten program provides a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where children grow in good behavior, responsibility, and early academic readiness. We focus on building a strong foundation for lifelong learning and success in elementary education.

Using the Abeka curriculum, students are introduced to:

  • Bible

  • Letters, phonics, reading, and spelling

  • Numbers and early math skills

  • Cursive writing

  • Science and social studies

Learning is enriched through health, art, and hands-on activities that make concepts engaging and memorable.

Our Pre-K program is offered 5 full days a week, providing consistency and structure for young learners.

With small class sizes (typically 10 students or fewer), teachers are able to give each child meaningful individual attention. Students also enjoy interactive learning experiences, classroom enrichment, and occasional field trips that bring learning to life.
